Hey guys I made it. I'm down in Pecos right now at the library. I got permission to come email you real quick. On Monday when we landed President and Sister Rose and the AP's were waiting to pick us up. We went back to the mission home and had interviews and took some pictures and Sister Rose made a bomb roast. Best meal I've had in 9 weeks!! President Rose is awesome!! Yea he's super strict but he just goes by the white handbook so I've got no choice but to be exactly obedient. We're not allowed to drink soda...thats pretty much the only rule we have thats not in the white handbook...because some members got offended. But its not that bad because I don't drink soda anyways. We didn't stay the night there. There were 12 of us that came in and I don't think they had room. We split up and stayed with random missionaries at different appartments. Tuesday we got up and had some more orientation stuff and went and got bikes and stuff...I bought a used bike from a missionary for 60 bucks and a helmet for 30. The spanish elders always have a car so we only ride bikes if we're low on miles...Then we got to go out and do work. I went down to Post with some spanish elders. Post is about 45 minutes from Lubbock. We knocked on some doors and ended up teaching a lesson to some kid that actually seemed pretty interested(this was all in English by the way) I was surprised at how little Spanish we really speak here. We do a lot in English because most of the Mexicans here speak English and Spanish. Then we had an appointment with a Mexican lady...She's awesome. She speaks English and Spanish but we talked to her in Spanish and her kids in English. It's kind of interesting. She made an awesome dinner for us...My first authentic Mexican Food(Don't worry mom it wasn't menudo) It was really good. Then yesterday we took the bus to our areas. I got dropped off in Odessa where I met up with my comp/trainer, Elder Brandon (his first name is Todd, crazy huh?!) He's really cool. He's really into baseball and we seem to get along good so far. We stayed in Odessa all day and visited some people he had baptised up there and then last night we drove about an hour and 15 down to Pecos. Its pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Its one of the dirtiest cities in the mission. When I say dirty I mean its ghetto. Its pretty sweet. The people are so nice here though. We actually have two baptisms this weekend. A brother and sister. So thats pretty sweet to see some success right away. Our apartment here is really ghetto and I'm pretty sure its nastier than Blake's in capitol hill. We don't have bed bugs but we do have roaches...like 6 inchers. Nasty!! Its really hot here but I'm used to it. Its probably in the 80's-90's today. My P-day is on Monday so I'll email again on Monday. We've gotta go do some shopping and get to some appointments so I'll talk to Y'all later. Its a good time here. Its a good time is a big phrase here so get used to it. I know I'm probably forgetting to answer something so I'm sorry. If I forgot something ask me again next week.
Love y'all.
